Call for Associate Editors – Social Psychological Bulletin

The incoming Editors-in-Chief of the Social Psychological Bulletin seek applications for three Associate Editors in our new editorial team for the term 2022-2026.

Social Psychological Bulletin is a journal committed to scientifically responsible research practices but also focused on socially relevant issues. SPB encourages submissions of timely, cutting-edge research on social problems of real concern for broader audiences.

The journal is published by the open-access platform PsychOpen Gold (ZPID). SPB is truly OA: It publishes articles at no cost for readers and authors, thanks to the sponsoring societies which generously cover the article processing charges. Furthermore, SPB actively supports open-science practices (e.g. pre-registration, open data/materials) and implements a high standard for the Transparency and Openness Promotion (TOP) guidelines (https://topfactor.org/). SPB is committed to supporting cultural and social diversity, in terms of gender equality and the diversity of ethnic backgrounds of members of our editorial team and our contributors.

The new Associate Editors will continue promoting the highest standards in publishing. They will be responsible for handling around 3-4 manuscripts per year and, to the extent possible, manuscripts assigned to each AE would be in their areas of expertise. This involves selecting reviewers for manuscripts, ensuring that all reviewers and authors uphold the journal’s publishing ethics, managing revisions, and making editorial decisions.

We are interested in applicants whose publications and research interests span multiple domains of social psychology. We especially welcome applicants who appreciate open access practices. They should also be willing to take an active role in making editorial decisions (evaluating reviewers’ comments and providing constructive feedback to authors regardless of the final decision). Preference will be given to candidates with prior editorial experience.

To apply, please send your CV and a cover letter via email to spb@psychopen.eu by November 30th 2021. Please outline any experience that you have which supports your application.

For more information, please feel free to contact the incoming editors: Katarzyna Cantarero (kcantarero@swps.edu.pl), Monika Wrobel (monika.wrobel@now.uni.lodz.pl), Katarzyna Jasko (katarzyna.jasko@uj.edu.pl).
